If you have ever wanted to write an ebook then this post might be for you – I review a low cost, medium cost and high costwrite an ebook’ product. First of all, if you are unsure as to whether to write an ebook read my post here.

As you may have read on my aboutme page I have decided to write an eBook and am in the process of creating it having finally decided that this would cure the ‘perfectionism’ which I was finding with affiliate marketing (it’s a long story!)

As is usual with me I then set about getting as much information as I could on the subject, so this post is really a summary of the guides that I used. I hope it is helpful.

1) Write an EBook Low Cost Product

Write an EBook -EBook Sorcery
In the ‘low cost’ product section is “Simple EBook Sorcery” by Garry Sayers, a successful internet marketer from the UK.  I also bought the PLR rights to the guide which is why you will find my name on the salespage.  “Simple EBook Sorcery” is simple(!) step by step guide to writing an ebook and marketing it.

There is a lot of useful information in this guide – initially encouraging you to answer the questions ‘which market will it be in?’ – (fundamental) but then asking 3 more fundamental questions

  • Who will do the salesletter?
  • Who will do the graphics?
  • Who will load up to the World Wide Web?

Garry encourages you to get the ball rolling on all these aspects of your eBook sooner rather than later, encourages you to outsource, but the point he makes is that by thinking about all the other aspects of launching your eBook, you won’t delay that launch itself.

Garry also addresses the ‘expert vs none expert issue” and has a guide to the use of Private Label Rights Products (PLR) in creating your EBook.

The thing I really like about this guide is that only a small portion of it (maybe a quarter) is actually about how to “write an ebook”.  This guide is more about the research, the preparation, and getting all the stuff prepared for a successful launch, rather than the mechanics of  eBook creation itself.

It is a little short on traffic tactics (apart from a good section on getting affiliates to promote your product) which is why I have thrown in a couple of traffic related bonuses on the salespage.

Oh, and the grammar and spelling leaves a little to be desired …. Garry mentions this in the guide and makes no apologies for it, arguing persuasively that people are more interested in the information itself than the spelling in grammar.

Overall  – Recommended as a guide to all the other stuff you need to do when you write an ebook

2) Write an EBook Medium Cost Product Review

Write an ebook PDF DominationFirst of all ignore the slightly cheesy salesletter for ‘Instant PDF Domination’ (I was a little wary myself before I bought this product – which I have also got resale rights for btw). This is a video based product – 12 videos in all – covering everything from product research to traffic.  Like the previous eBook the video on actual product creation is video number 8, so again, there is a strong emphasis on preparation.

Personally, I prefer reading information to learn rather than video (which can also take an age to download though you can – and this is actually a very big plus point – download each video individually as you are pointed at a download page rather than sent a zipped file).   I was therefore very pleased to see a 94page transcript of the videos .. excellent stuff, the ‘best of both worlds’.

Now onto the content. I have to say I really really liked this product.  It is well stuctured, well presented, I personally agreed with the authors view on which niches you should consider, which you shouldn’t and what constitutes ‘expert status’. Video 3 outlines a site which I didn’t know existed and is ideal for research (and it’s not the one’s you think!)

As for the videos – the PDF was enough for me – I watched one for the purposes of writing this review and they seemed to me to be well presented and well produced …

Oh, and there are some great bonuses offered as well including resale right. A great guide for writing that first eBook.

Overall  – I think this will really set you off on the right road.  Presented in video and eBook format with some excellent bonuses.

3) Write an EBook High Cost Product Review

Write an EBook Hobby
OK confession time.  I haven’t bought this product but I have thought about it many times.  But it is just too darned expensive for me.  However,  if you are just starting out then because it appears to be so comprehensive, it might save you money on other products which you don’t need to buy (if that makes sense!)

The main reason I include it on here is that it is by Kevin Riley.

I have bought some of Kevin’s (lower cost) products before and they have been excellent.  I am sure that this product will cover everything.  Enough said

Overall  – I haven’t bought this one but being from Kevin Riley it is likely to be top notch and cover all bases

I hope you have enjoyed my short review – now go on an write an ebook yourself!
