Make Money Through Blogging About Your Hobby
You can make money through blogging about your hobby!
If you have a hobby that you are really interested in and passionate about then one of the ways to make money from your hobby is to start a blog and just simply write regularly about your hobby.
You can do this for free at blogger.com but if you are going to monetize your blog (and hence make money) I would recommend a self hosted blog with WordPress installed (such as this one since you ask!).
That way you have total control over your blog and how you monetize it.
Whatever your hobby, you will almost certainly find a potential way to monetize it. Here are some ways you could make money through blogging.
- Google Adsense (contextual ads placed on your site – you get paid if anybody clicks on them)
- An Amazon or eBay store – you get paid a commission for any item bought through your store
- recommending digital downloads/ebooks that others have written for which you get paid a commision
- Or why not write your own digital download/eBook and sell it from your site
Setting up your own blog may seem really daunting at first, and there are some basic building blocks you need.
- A good domain name – I recommend going to namecheap.com and registering your domain there for less than $10
- Reliable hosting – Hostgator is highly reommended for around $5per month
Once you have your domain name and your hosting setting up WordPress is quite a straightforward operation though a control panel you get with your hosting account. There is a tool called Fantastico through which wordpress is a one click setup… and once you have set it up and chosen a theme you can blog away….
